Our Story – Over 40 Years of Boating Excellence
MarineMax’s story began over 40 years ago when founder Bill McGill moved to Florida to turn his passion for boating into what would become the world’s largest boat retailer. Today, his son, William Brett McGill, serves as MarineMax’s Chief Executive Officer and President, carrying forward the family legacy of connecting people to the water.
In 1998, Bill McGill and a team of top American boat retailers united to form MarineMax, introducing a new approach to the boating industry. Today, as a publicly traded company on the NYSE (HZO), MarineMax is a name trusted worldwide for its dedication to quality, customer satisfaction, and creating lifelong memories on the water.
